Padre Pio’s Prayer For Healing

You crave divine healing but you wonder if God will listen to your prayers.

You are in unbearable pain.

You are worried.

You are losing sleep.

You are afraid.

You have forgotten that God has left numerous messages for you in the Bible.

He knows your pains and your needs. Let’s start with a simple prayer to God and open your heart and mind to what God is telling you.

Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering, lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure.

Give me such confidence in the power of your grace, that even when I am afraid, I may put my whole trust in you; through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Background

Saint Padre Pio led a remarkable life of miracles as the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Church. According to his biography, Saint Padre Pio wrote to Father Benedetto Nardella:

“For a long time I have felt in myself a need to offer myself to the Lord as a victim for poor sinners and the souls in Purgatory. This desire has been growing continually in my heart so that it has now become what I would call a strong passion….It seems to me that Jesus wants this.”

Shortly after that, the marks of the wounds of Christ — known as the stigmata — appeared on Saint Padre Pio’s body, on Friday, September 20, 1918. This occurred while he was making his thanksgiving prayer after Mass.

Saint Padre Pio was endowed by God with many spiritual gifts including the gift of healing.

We will share his most powerful healing prayer with you shortly, but before doing so, remember God’s words in Philippians 4:6–7:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

Now, let’s pray.

The Most Powerful Healing Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, to the world to save and set me free.

I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me.

Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.

Cast anything that should not be in me.

Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells.

Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas.

Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ precious blood.

Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function.

Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart.

Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and peace and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life.

And Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit and empower me to do your works so that my life will bring glory and honour to your holy name.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

How to Pray For Healing For Someone Else

Use this short simple prayer if you are unable to meet the person:

Let him be filled with patience and joy in your presence as he waits for your healing touch. Please restore your servant to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from his/her heart by the power of your Holy Spirit, and may you, Lord, be glorified through his/her life.

Amen.

You can pray the most powerful prayer of Saint Padre Pio above by replacing the word “me” with the name of the person you are praying for, and the word “my” with the person’s name in possessive terms, eg. “John’s”.
